Stonehenge
These stones are one of Britain's most famous monuments, and is thought to be a hub of prehistoric activity from 8000BC. The stones themselves date from around 2500BC, having been transported hundreds of miles and then erected in a circle, aligned with the sun's cycles. The site was restored in the early 20th century and has been the subject of many legends and folk tales.
